JULY 2015 | Northwestern Mutual Raises $19,277 for Childhood Cancer Research

For the second year in a row, our office participated in Northwestern Mutual’s “Race for Research” campaign.  In 49 days, our offices in Northern Ohio raised $19,277 through multiple fundraising activities like golf outings, lemonade stands, and silent auctions.  This donation, raised by Northwestern Mutual representatives in Northern Ohio, will directly fund more than 348 hours of childhood cancer research.

We want to see a world where children don’t have to suffer from cancer, which is the leading cause of death by disease in kids in the U.S.

Multiple Northwestern Mutual offices nationwide also participated in the “Race for Research” campaign.  Together we raised $515,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in 49 days.  We are proud to say that these dollars will support 10,300 hours of childhood cancer research.

2015 Toledo Zoo-To-Do

This event is a fun and chic, black tie and tennis shoes event with over fifty of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, and live music. But more importantly, the Zoo to Do provides essential funding for the continued development of community outreach and on-site educational opportunities as well as state-of-the-art care and exhibits for the animals. One hundred percent of the net proceeds raised from this event support the zoo’s daily operations and helps ensure that children of all ages can enjoy one of Toledo’s historic treasures for generations to come.

JULY 2014 | Northwestern Mutual Raises $8,200 for Childhood Cancer Research

Belnstrumental Organization's Be Musical in the Park

By Northwestern Mutual in Toledo making a sponsor donation to the BeInstrumental organization for their first annual Be Musical in the Park event, the foundation was able to secure their venue at the Wildwood Metropark, Ward Pavilion. BeInstrumental is a Toledo, Ohio based organization that was founded in 2009 as a result of alarming cuts in funding for in-school music education. Schools with low-achieving and disadvantaged students are often the first to lose their music programs, so the mission of this organization is to ensure that every child has a musical education and to provide schools with the resources needed to teach music. BeInstrumental also accepts donations of new and used musical instruments to loan to children who cannot afford an instrument of their own.
